Joseph B. Byham, 58, of Meadville, died Friday, June 16, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following a four-month illness.
Mr. Byham was born in Meadville, March 16, 1931, a son of Fred R. and Ruth Dodge Byham. He married Naomi Chick. He subsequently married Beatrice Nicholson. She preceded him in death in 1975. He subsequently married Dorothy Peterman Gable March 13, 1976. She survives.
He was a pressman at the Meadville Tribune for 19 years. He previously was employed in newspaper pressroom work in Rochester, Cleveland, Erie and Detroit. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Meadville Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Mona) Stearns of Meadville, Mrs. Kenneth (Darla) Feltenberger of Meadville and Mrs. Richard (Rhonda) Stevenson of Meadville; one son, Randy Byham of Meadville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Cindy) Piercy of Atlanta, GA; two stepsons, William Gable, serving in the US Army Fort Eustis, VA and Robert Gable of Harmonsburg; two sisters, Mrs. David (Betty) Johnson of Meadville and Mrs. William (Ruth) Atherton of Santa Anna, CA; one brother, Fred C. Byham of Dayton, OH; sixteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
