Joseph Bass, Jr., 50, of Meadville, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Thursday, May 12, 2005.
He was born in Meadville October 17, 1954, a son of Joseph and Ethel Jenkins Bass, Sr. On April 2, 1974 he married Wilna Franco and they shared 31 wonderful years together.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School and worked at Advanced Cast Products, Inc. for 32 years, currently as a pattern clerk. He was a member and officer of U.S. Steel Workers Union local #1917. He was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2006 and was a member of Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and West Mead Township #2 Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed NASCAR and cherished his time with his wife and children.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: a daughter, Colette A. Bass and her boyfriend Lorenzo of Philadelphia; a son, Joseph Bass, III and his wife Terrah of Harrisburg; his mother, Ethel Bass of Meadville; a sister, Cynthia Bass of Meadville; 2 brothers, Timothy Bass and his wife Janet of Grove City and David Bass and his wife Aleda of Meadville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside funeral service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Greendale Cemetery.
