Joseph Darrell Barnhart

Joseph Darrell Barnhart, 54, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024.

He was born February 25, 1970 in Meadville, a son of James and Donna Jean Orr Barnhart.  He married Alice Howell December 23, 2007.

Joe was a 1990 graduate of Meadville High School.  He was a Veteran of Desert Storm, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1990-1994.  He was employed as a machinist, assistant manager of Kwik Fill, for Delta Railroad, and was self-employed as Joe’s Handyman.

Joe attended Watson Run Church of God.  He was a former 4-H volunteer supporting his children, enjoyed raising rabbits and chickens at home, and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Alice, include eight children, Ivy Wheeler, Karissa Barnhart (Hope Riddle), Jason Barnhart, Dallas Barnhart, Ethan Barnhart, Benjamin Barnhart, Joy Barnhart, and Journey Ray; and siblings, Jennifer Hazlet (Joe) James Barnhart (Heather), and Julie Busher (Ray).

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Ruth Orr, and uncles, Larry and Billy.

Calling hours are Friday, May 10 from 12-2 p.m. at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Zill, Pastor of Watson Run Church of God, officiating and military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.
