Joseph F. Fetcko

Joseph F. Fetcko, 61, of Meadville died at home Sunday, November 20, 2011.

He was born in Washington, PA October 12, 1950, a son of Carl A. and Florence G. Griffin Fetcko.

He was a 1972 graduate of Penn State University and was a Senior Advancement Officer in the Development and Alumni Affairs Department of Allegheny College for the past 10 years.  He previously had lived and worked in Tucson, AZ where he was a very successful self-employed management consultant for 20 years before returning to Pennsylvania to be near his family.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Mageetown (near Centerville) and he attended Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake.  His professional associations, include membership in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the American Association of Fundraising Professionals.  His mother passed onto him his interest in family genealogy.  He greatly enjoyed spending time at the farmhouse and barn in Mageetown, as well as sharing it with his family and friends.   He was also especially proud of his Farmall tractor.  His mother passed onto him his interest in family genealogy.  He also loved his cats, most particularly Sarah Lilly.

Survivors, include: two brothers, Carl W. (Bill) Fetcko and his wife Linda of Canonsburg, Tom Fetcko of Canonsburg; a sister, Margie Mahramus and her husband Nick of Canonsburg; his aunt Ann Feconda of Leesburg, VA; several cousins, including two with whom he was especially close, Judy Nozling of Pittsburgh and Cathy Bauer of Aliquippa; ten nieces and nephews, Jodi Kubit and her husband Ed, Shawn Fetcko and his wife Sara, Carl William (Opie) Fetcko and his wife Kari, Shannon Fetcko, Frank Roberts, Jaime Bittner and her husband Mike, Katie Boris and her husband Jon, Anthony Mahramus, Alyssa Mahramus and Nichol Petrella and several great nieces and great nephews.  He also leaves behind many friends, here and in Arizona, including his best friend of over 40 years, Tony and Jayne Bongiovanni of Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake with Fr. Steve Anderson, Celebrant.

Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Mageetown.
