Joseph J. "Joe" Lyons

Joseph J. “Joe” Lyons, 85 of Sandy Lake, passed away on October 26, 2021. Joe was born in Sandy Lake on January 28, 1936 to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Herron) Lyons. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army and worked for many years as a Construction Supervisor and Project Manager. He was a lifetime member of Sandy Lake Sportsman’s Club and was an excellent skeet shooter. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed farming his land and gardening. He was always there for family and friends in need to help them. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Joseph is survived by his wife, Peggy J Lyons, children William (Jackie) Lyons of Butler, Joseph (Tracy) Lyons of Sandy Lake, Candace (Nick) Strimbu of Brookfield, OH, Cynthia Dickson of Hartford, OH, and Kelly (Lisa) Barton of Mercer, ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and siblings Dorothy Eckon of Lower Burrell and Dennis (Carol) Lyons of Carlton. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by his sisters Joan Segaty and Mary Penman, nephew Scott Lyons, son-in-law Dennis Dickson, and adopted son Chris Barton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 3 pm – 7 pm on Friday, October 29. A funeral service will take place at 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
