Joseph R. Spaulding

Joseph R. Spaulding, 86, of Guys Mills, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born January 18, 1936 in Meadville, a son of John Hugh and Edna Hart Spaulding.

Joe was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He worked as a car mechanic in Meadville and subsequently as an engineer for the railroad.  He was also owner and operator of Spaulding Farms.  Joe was passionate about animals and loved his cows and horses.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane Porter and Linda Spaulding of Newnan, GA; two brothers, Jack Boulton of Old Fort, NC and Donald Spaulding (Arlene) of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Peggy Spaulding of Union Mills, NC; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Tippy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Audley and James Hugh Spaulding and a sister, Mary Adsit.

Family and friends will be received Friday, September 23rd from 1-2 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dustin Heath, Meadville Medical Center Chaplain, officiating and military honors provided by Cochranton American Legion Post 836.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
