Joseph R. Staahl

Joseph R. Staahl, 81, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born June 18, 1939 in Corning, NY, a son of Joseph and Ruth Tapper Staahl, Sr.  He married Margaret Frank August 17, 1963.

Joe was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1962-1964, stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA.  He was a 1968 graduate of Alfred University, Alfred, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Science and a 1976 graduate of Gannon University with Masters in Business Administration.  He was employed at PPG for 23 years as a process engineer and subsequently did consulting work.

Joe was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church and its Samaritans.  He was also a member of the Pic-a-Longs, built model airplanes and played various musical instruments.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Margaret, include two daughters, Lisa Jackson of Tucson, AZ and Gretchen Styborski (Ted) of Meadville and four grandchildren, Saadia Memon, Aziza Jackson, Nicholas Styborski and Christian Styborski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Hal Jackson.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no calling hours and a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake with Fr. David Carter as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 112 Washington Place, Suite 1520, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or The Samaritans, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
