Joseph Tams

Joseph Tams, 73, of Ruskin, FL, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Florida following a brief illness.

He was born March 21, 1945 in Cleveland, OH, a son of Austin and Harriet Garbett Tams.  He married Sharyn Thummler March 4, 1997 and she survives.

Joe was a 1964 graduate of Miami Edison High School, Miami and a 1967 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute, Daytona Beach.  He was a pilot for Capital Cargo Institute of Orlando and formerly for Eastern Airlines for 23 years.

Joe was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Apollo Beach Golf Club.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Sharyn, include a daughter, Kirsten Schleitwiler (Clay) of Plant City, FL; a son, Bradley Tams (Jana) of Stanwood, WA; three grandchildren, Jada, Reagan, and Leo Tams; and a sister, Tammy Raymond (Jerry) of Ruskin, FL.

Private burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
