Joseph V. Simonette

Joseph V. Simonette, 83, a former Meadville resident and a resident of 12469 Porter Road, Conneaut Lake, died at home Friday, October 15, 2004.

He was born in Meadville, July 17, 1921, a son of the late Joseph & Martina DeMarco Simonette.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.  He retired in 1986 from Talon as a production worker, following 40 years of service.  He enjoyed playing golf on all the area golf courses.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Mary Jo Uplinger of Conneaut Lake; Debbie Chace of Williamsfield, Ohio; and Patricia Clapsaddle; 6 grandchildren, Melissa S. Ott, Shawn Watt, Joseph L. Gehr, Pebbles Selliken, Tammy Moyers, and Lee Clapsaddle; 2 great-grandchildren, Brendon Ott and Harold Flora; 4 sisters, Angeline Furno, Josephine Furno, and Rosie Palmiero all of Meadville; and Mary Rendulic of Conneautville; 1 brother, Sam Simonette of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Antoninette Grippe & Madeline Gattuso.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a wake service at 8:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville with Fr. Mark Hoffman as Celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery with military honors provided by Harm Jan Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.
