Joseph Walls, 60, of Meadville, died at Spencer Hospital Monday morning. He had been ill for a long period, but had been admitted to the hospital only Sunday.
He spent his early life in Clearfield County, coming to Meadville 37 years ago. He worked as a molder for 21 years, part of that time at the National Bearing Division plant of the American Brake Shoe Co. More recently he had been self-employed as a painter.
Mr. Walls was a charter member of the United Brethren Church on Neason Hill.
He is survived by his widow, Gwendola M. Walls; eight children, Anna May, Joseph, Jr., Jack Paul Edward, Mrs. William Davern and Jerry, all of Meadville, Robert of Grand Valley and Waldon of Lincoln, NE; seven sisters and brothers, Mrs. Rude Sutton, Mrs. Mary Waugaman, Mrs. Nellie Madden, Waldon and Edwards Walls, all of Cherry Tree, Mrs. Clair Daughterty of Turtle Creek and Mrs. Ford Smith of Meadville and nineteen grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
