Joseph William Teare

April 10, 1927 — June 28, 2009

Joseph William Teare, 82, of Highland Avenue, Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at UPMC – Horizon Hospital, Greenville.

He was born in Greenville, April 10, 1927 a son of Dr. Paul N. and Florence Devore Teare.

He was a carpenter working for Devore Construction Co. and then Goodea Construction Co. retireing in 1989.  He was a 1945 graduate of Greenville High School and he attended Thiel College.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Yorktown.

He was a member of Carpenters Local #268.  He was of the Methodist faith.  He deeply loved his dog Penny, spending time at Conneaut Lake and he always enjoyed being busy.

Survivors: include: his loving companion, Adele Smith of Conneaut Lake; his sister, Carolyn Welsh of Pompano Beach, FL; his good friend of 50 years, Max Mead of Conneaut Lake and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul N. Teare, Jr. and James Devore Teare.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.  The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Brenda Loucks, officiating.  Military honors will be provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
