Mrs. Josephine F. Boyd, 72, of Meadville, died at Mead Nursing Home Monday, August 25, 1975, after an illness of three months. She had been at the home for three weeks.
Born in Franklin on March 11, 1903, she was a daughter of John Lewis and Minnie Mae Weber McKenzie. She married Mr. Boyd on August 19, 1922. For 13 years she and Mr. Boyd operated Boyd's Market in Franklin. They moved to Meadville in 1953. Mrs. Boyd was a member of First Baptist Church, the Plus Ultra Class of the church and was a former Sunday school teacher there.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Gale (Dora Jean) Shreffler of Allison Park and Mrs. Richard (Ruth Lou) Weaver of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Mitchell of Franklin and Mrs. Helen Bunnell of Erie; a brother, Fred McKenzie of Willimantic, Conn.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Franklin Cemetery.
