Josephine L. Dubowski

Josephine L. Dubowski, 84, a resident of the Normandy Manor of Rocky River, OH for the past four years and formerly of Meadville, died Friday, June 1, 2001 at Lakewood Hospital, Lakewood, OH.

She was born November 1, 1916 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Charles and Maude Dunkin Cummings.  She married Alex J. Dubowski October 17, 1942 and he preceded her in death October 9, 1993.

She was a 1942 graduate of Spencer Hospital School of Nursing and worked at the hospital as a Registered Nurse for 30 years until her retirement in 1972.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, and was active in all activities at Normandy Manor including bingo, ceramics and the Lunch Bunch.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Dubowski (Nadine) of North Olmstead, OH and Lawrence Dubowski (Rebecca) of Meadville; two grandchildren, Michael and Melissa Dubowski; one sister, Geraldine Thomas of Cabot, PA; one niece; one nephew; four great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer (Bus) Cummings.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
