Josephine M. Soden

Mrs. Josephine M. Soden, 74, a resident of Hillside Home for the past two years, widow of Ralph E. Soden, died Sunday, November 11, 1979, at Meadville Nursing Home where she had been a patient for about three weeks.

She had been in failing health for several months.

She was born in Meadville August 4, 1905, daughter of Alfred W. and Lida Vendervort Morrison.  Soden died in 1958.  Following her husband's death, Mrs. Soden was employed on the nursing staff of the Hillside Home for 14 years.

She was a member of Park Congregational Church.  She graduated from Meadville Public Schools and City Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1927.  She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and Crawford County Humane Society.

Survivors include two sisters, Miss Marian Morrison of Meadville and Mrs. Charles (Maud) Wood of Winnetka, IL; a sister-in-law, and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
