Joyce Irene Sexton Woge

Joyce Irene Sexton Woge, 88, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at her residence.

She was born August 19, 1933 in Venango, a daughter of Ernest Elwood and Agnes Mae Beige Sexton.  She married John E. Woge December 19, 1952.

Joyce was a 1951 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School.  She owned and operated Joyce Woge Bridal Shop in Meadville for many years.

Joyce was a member of St. Mark’s Church.  She enjoyed wintering in Florida for 25 years.  She loved music, playing hymns on the organ, in Florida she enjoyed playing her accordion and Polka songs.  People always requested her to play the Pennsylvania Polka and the Beer Barrel Polka.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband John, include a son, John D. Woge (Tina) of Meadville; five grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; a sister, Janet Hansen of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Lee Leasure and a sister, N. Jean Krem Ward.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, November 21st from 1-4 p.m. and Monday, November 22nd from 10-11 a.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Revs. Russell Hines and Marshall Lillie officiating.

Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
