Joyce L. Kebort

October 22, 1939 — November 13, 2003

Joyce L. Kebort, 64, of 344 Valley View Drive, Saegertown, died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Meadville October 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward H. and Eleanor Rudd Carr.  She married Wallace H. (Wally) Kebort April 26, 1958.

She was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked for 20 years as an operator for Bell Telephone Company and subsequently worked several part-times jobs until retiring in 2001 from Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.  She was a member of the Bell Telephone Co. Pioneers Club.  She enjoyed aerobic classes at the YWCA, her card club for many years, traveling, and especially spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 45 years, include 2 sons, Kenneth Kebort and his companion Kim Evans of Saegertown and Brian Kebort and his wife Andrea of Hartstown; a daughter, Kim Higby and her husband Jeff of Lake City; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Kaylee, and Breanna Kebort and Matthew and Kelly Higby; a brother, George Carr and his wife Pat of Meadville; and 1 nephew and 2 nieces.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Carr.

Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service is Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William L. Brown, Associate Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
