Joyce Marie Gillespie

Joyce Marie Gillespie, 73, of Meadville, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Wesbury United Methodist Community surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy battle with various health challenges.

She was born May 28, 1949 in Geneva, PA, a daughter of Raymond and Lila Nichols Holabaugh.

Joyce worked as a bartender at the Fairway 12 Restaurant and subsequently at the Anchor and Carr’s Restaurants.

She was a member of Watson Run Church of God.  She loved doing crafts and flower gardening and was an avid Steelers fan.

Survivors include two daughters, Maria Elkady (Joseph Cole) of McDonough, GA and Marci Armel (Barry Hoover) of Denton, NC; her mother, Lila Holabaugh of Meadville; three grandchildren, Justin Armel, Jason Elkady, and Isabella Elkady; three great-grandchildren, Colt, LilaMae, and Wrenn; three step-granddaughters, Amber, Jodi, and Sydney Cole; two sisters, Janice Quinn (Tom) of Meadville and Marguerite (Peggy) Packard (Raymond Jr.) of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be Saturday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Watson Run Church of God, 13158 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake with the Rev. Ken Hough, Pastor, officiating.
