Judith Ann Young

January 3, 1949 — December 12, 2022

Judith Ann Young, 73 of Townville, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, December 12, 2022.

She was born on January 3, 1949 in Cambridge Springs, PA to the late John & Marian Webb. Judy was a 1966 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School and on July 9, 1966, she married the late Daniel X. Young of Saegertown. They lived in Maryland when they were first married while Dan was a police officer in Washington, DC, after which they lived in Cambridge Springs for a few years and then finally settled in Saegertown, PA where Dan in 1977 became a police officer, again. Judy had different jobs over the years which included working at the H&H Super Market in Saegertown, Kmart in Meadville, and finally at Robertson’s Safety and Equipment also in Meadville. In 2002 Dan and Judy moved to Vero Beach, Florida; where they enjoyed taking their pontoon boat out on the Indian River and entertaining all the family and friends that would come to Florida to visit them. Judy is survived by three children: Deanna Potts and her husband Bob of Townville, Brian Young and his wife Bridget of Cambridge Springs, and Paul Young and his wife Cindy. 11 grandchildren: Bobby Potts and his wife Amanda, Jacob Potts and his wife Caterina, David Potts and his wife Eileen, Paul Jackson, Cody Young and his wife Chrissi, Hannah Young, Sarah Adams, Corey Young, Evan Young, Abby Duda, and Ty Duda. She also has 6 great grandchildren with another one expected in February 2023. Judy was an only child so when she married Dan, she considered his siblings as her siblings too; they include Bonnie Gable and her husband Albert. Scott Young and his wife Linda, Jack Young and Barb Young. Also, a cousin who was like a sister Christine Thomas and her husband Dan of Erie. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Paul and Betty Young, a sister-in-law Phyllis Noska, and an infant granddaughter Faith Young. The family is asking that donations be made to the Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute of Meadville or Interim HealthCare Hospice of Erie. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 22, 2023, at the Saegertown American Legion from 1-4 pm. Please come and celebrate the life of Judy Young.
