Judy Lynn Corey

Judy Lynn Corey, 67, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2021.

She was born in Meadville, PA, October 12, 1953 to parents Wayne G. Corey and Twila M. Corey (McKay).

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Day Sampson; her parents; brother, Steven R. Corey and sister, Beth E. Corey.

Judy had a giving heart and would reach out to those less fortunate.  This spirit guided her to study education at Edinboro University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education.

She shared her devotion by providing Therapeutic support through local agencies.  She worked for Lakeshore Community services, Dresden, Family Services and Bethesda.  She provided in home care through the ARC.

Judy is survived by her granddaughter, Kasey Day Walker; sister, Debra Maloney (Michael); brother, Eric Corey (Becky Davis); nieces and nephews, Matthew Maloney, Dayna Mitchell (Justin), Cale Corey, Bobbie Sue LaFebvre, Jesse Clark (Wendy Laritza), Sara Corey (Vasquez), and Kyle Corey.

Judy's granddaughter was the light of her life, and Kasey would like to share a few memories in her own words.  "My Gramma, Judy Corey has passed...yet she left me with the absolute greatest gift of all, LOVE.  I could tell every time I visited her she loved me to bits and pieces, especially when she would tell me stories such as Three Little Pigs, Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  I loved when she told me those stories because she always added her own version of quirks to caricatures, making them fun each time she told them.  I want everyone to know what a great person she was.  She was happy, caring, thoughtful and selfless.  So that's how I want my fantastic Gramma to be remembered.”

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date when we can all enjoy each other’s company safely.
