Julia Ann Garnet

December 10, 1917 — August 31, 2010

Julia Ann Garnet, 92, formerly of Hartstown and a resident of Rolling Fields, Conneautville since October 2005, died there Tuesday, August 31, 2010.

She was born December 10, 1917 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of John and Ann Kalmer Kish.  She married Rocco Garnet in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1972.

Julia was a graduate of Chaney High School, Youngstown and was employed at Conneaut School District for 35 years, retiring as cafeteria manager in 1993.  She previously was owner and operator with her husband of Garnet's Greenhouse, Hartstown from 1952 to 1973.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, baking, and especially being with her family.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include 4 sons, Phillip Garnet and his wife Diane of McDonald, OH, James Garnet of Hartstown, Gary Garnet and his wife Connie of Cortland, OH, and Rocco Garnet and his wife Cheryl of Conneaut Lake; 9 grandchildren, Rhonda Winters, Phillip John Garnet, James Garnet, Amber Sowers, Michelle Zahel, Gary Garnet II, Mark Garnet, Kristy Garnet, and Valarie Lobins; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 7 brothers, John, Pete, Joe, Frank, Gus, George, and Steve Kish and a sister, Ann Fahl.

There are no calling hours.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake with Father Steve Anderson as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
