Julie A. Welsh

Julie A. Welsh, 70, of North East and formerly of Meadville, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at her residence.

She was born April 16, 1943 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Andy F. and Alice J. Wooden Waid.  She married Robert T. Welsh in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Julie was a 1961 graduate of Meadville High School and a graduate of the former Erie Commercial College.  She worked as an administrative assistant at the Erie office of the PA Dept. of Revenue for 18 years, retiring in 2003.  She previously worked as an office assistant for Dr. James Schauble, Erie and as a medical transcriptionist at Doctors Osteopathic Hospital.

Julie was of the Methodist faith.  She had a great love of animals including her cat, dogs, and most recently alpacas.  She enjoyed reading, playing Sudoku, and spending time with her many friends including her “Curves” friends.

Survivors include cousins and many friends.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Greendale Cemetery, 700 Randolph St., Meadville with Jim Potratz, friend officiating, with interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
