June E. Guckert

June E. Guckert, 77, of Conneaut Lake died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Andover Village, Andover, OH.

She was born in Pittsburgh, June 8, 1932, a daughter of Ralph and Lillian Rode Thomas.  She married Donald Guckert December 6, 1952 and he preceded her in death October 18, 1996.

She worked as an optometric assistant for Dr. Cliff Ferguson in Meadville and Dr. James Laur of Conneaut Lake.  She worked in the office of the Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall.  She also had worked at Sears both in Meadville and Pittsburgh and in the office at Conneaut Lake Park.

She was a 1950 graduate of Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Meadville.  She was a life member of Conneaut Lake Park VFD, a member of Linesville VFW and a member of Conneaut Lake VFD #3.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Guckert (Roberta) of Conneaut Lake and James Guckert (Connor) of Washinton DC; three grandchildren, Melissa Baker, Michael Baker (Amy) and Louis Dale and two great-grandchildren, Katie Baker and Maggie Baker.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
