Justin M. Young

Justin M. Young, 37, of Meadville died Saturday, April 1, 2017

He was born in Meadville April 17, 1979 a son of Walter Robert and Bonnie L. Dill Young.  He married Christa M. Phelps May 16, 2011 and she survives.

He was a 1997 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School where he played football, receiving the General Destruction Award. He was a member of the National Honor Society received the President’s Award for National Excellence and was voted a member of the Senior 5 as the student choice recipient.  He then attended Gannon University and the University of Pittsburgh.

He was a cycle salesman at Street Track-n-Trail.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and played in a couple of area pool leagues.  He loved the outdoors (especially hunting), music and spending time with his family.  He excelled in life, academics and sports, specifically his love for football and he was an unapologetic Cleveland Browns fan.  He had the ability to spread joy and laughter with his magnetic personality.  He could light up a room with his booming voice and beautiful smile.  He is leaving an empty space in the hearts of so many friends and family.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Christa, include: a daughter, Brooklyn Olivia Young at home; a step-son, David Van Kleeck at home; his mother, Bonnie L. Young of Meadville; a brother, Todd Young and his wife MaryCatherine of Meadville; two nieces, Peyton and Charlotte Young and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Robert Young.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 828 N. Main Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Patterson, Pastor, officiating.
