Karl E. Voehl, 84, was an avid hunter who belonged to many organizations, including the Meadville Sportsman Club.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 234, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie, Crawford County Shrine Club, and Scottish Rite of New Castle.
He was a life member of Vernon Central Hose Co.; former chairman of Vernon Township Recreation Board; former Crawford County Deputy Sheriff; member of the county sheriff's association; member of the Crawford-Erie State Police Co. 54.
He was a volunteer with the county civil defense and a former county Republican committeeman.
He was a machinist who worked at Talon for more than 40 years, retiring in 1974.
Mr. Voehl, of Meadville, died Thursday, April 28, 1994, at Wesbury United Methodist Community after a period of failing health.
He was born in Vernon Township, October 19, 1909, a son of Julius and Lydia Stoltz Voehl. He married Mary Schnauber, May 18, 1935. She survives.
Two nieces also survive.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Voehl and two sisters, Elizabeth Kinsell of Margarethe Voehl.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
