Karl S. Moser, 86, of Meadville since 1975, formerly of Cleveland, died Saturday, September 21, 1985, at City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born at Kidron, Wayne County, OH, June 27, 1899, a son of Simon D. and Lydia Amstutz Moser. He married Dorothy Katherine Pinkle July 2, 1927, who preceded him in death July 11, 1961. He subsequently married Erma Pinkle Dieringer October 27, 1973 and she preceded him in death February 22, 1975.
He was an officer with the US Customs Service for about 43 years, retiring from his position as an assistant collector for the Ohio District at Cleveland in 1965.
Mr. Moser was a member of Stone United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Pentalpha Masonic Lodge of East Cleveland, Scottish-Rite Bodies of Cleveland, Al Koran Shrine Temple of Cleveland and Crawford County Shrine Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret L. Moser of Meadville; a son, Roger A. Moser of Baton Rogue, LA; two sisters, Mrs.Etta Grimes of Orrville, OH and Laura Burkholder of Goshen, IN; three brothers, Clarence and Leonard Moser of Orrville and Alton of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Lester.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
