Katherine A. Pineo

Katherine A. Pineo, 75, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, formerly of Groton, MA, died Saturday, September 23, 1989, at Wesbury following a period of failing health.

Mrs. Pineo was born October 27, 1913, in Potomac, MD, a daughter of Walter and Luceretia Crown Allen.  She married Victor C. Pineo in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1967.

She had been secretary to the School Committee of Groton for several years.  She previously was secretary to the School Committee of Bedford, MA, for 12 years.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She was a graduate of the Washington Secretarial School, Washington, DC.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lucretia) Dickson of Chapel Hill, NC; one stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Dawn) Weaver of Norristown; one stepson, William Pineo of Conneaut Lake; four sisters, Georgia Stickley of Bethesda, MD, Annie Poates of Alexandria, VA, Mildred Nickelson of Washington DC and Edna Heinicke of Montgomery, MD; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Beale.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Potomac United Methodist Church Cemetery, Maryland.
