Katherine Hutchings

Mrs. Katherine Hutchings, 68, of Amherst, NH, formerly of Meadville, died at Pocono General Hospital, Thursday, December 30, 1976, after a long illness.

She was born in Meadville on September 6, 1908, a daughter of James and Mary Etta Kane Welsh.  She was a 1930 graduate of Allegheny College and a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  She taught school in the Meadville school district in her earlier years and later taught school in the Huntington, Long Island, school district, Long Island, school system in New York for 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, whom she married June 18, 1936; three daughters, Mrs. Karl (Ann) Weiler of Buckhill Falls and Mrs. Robert (Martha) Valicenti and Mrs. Barry (Mary Jo) Beswick, both of Amherst; a son, Richard M. of Coram, Long Island and nine grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
