Kathleen L. Martin

Kathleen Lynn Martin, 68, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away peacefully Thursday, May 9, 2013 with her family by her side.

She was born in Pittsburgh, March 8, 1945 a daughter of Lloyd and Wilma Cadoul Kirk.  She married Alvin Zalnasky June 5, 1965 and he preceded her in death August 7, 1980.  She subsequently married James Martin June 12, 1982 and they enjoyed 31 years together.

She was a 1963 graduate of West Allegheny High School, Imperial, PA and worked at Scio China Co. in Imperial, PA.  She owned and operated Monda’s Gift Barn in Meadville from 1987 until her retirement in 1994.

She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fan, enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jimmy Buffett music and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren and making every holiday special for them.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Jim, include: two sons, Timothy Zalnasky and his wife Lynn of Cranberry Twp. and James Zalnasky and his wife Mel of Ashburn, VA; a daughter, Kara Challingsworth and her husband Tim of Cranberry Twp.; eight grandchildren, Dmitri, Darius, Anna, Alexa and Bryn Zalnasky and Nick, Luke and Jake Challingsworth; her mother, Wilma Kirk of Noblestown; a brother, Dale Kirk of Oakdale; two sisters, Carole Soubie and her husband Ron of Conneaut Lake and Terri Watson and her husband John of McDonald and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake and Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Nation Funeral Home, 218 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA.

The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Nation Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald, PA.
