Kay C. Harned, 79, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at UPMC Hamot following a sudden stroke.
She was born May 26, 1941 in Geneva, PA, a daughter of Harland Bailey and Virginia Vernon Bailey Pardee. She married the love of her life, Richard K. Harned.
Kay worked at K-Mart for 19 years, retiring in 1996. She was an active member of High Street Community Church for many years and a member of Conneaut Lake VFD Station 3. She enjoyed oil painting and enjoyed spending time with her family. Kay was a very talented homemaker. She enjoyed baking, and was very good at making crafts, sewing, and cake decorating. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Dick, include four children, Gary Harned (Jackie) of Meadville; Elaine Harned of Cranbury, NJ; David Harned (Carolyn) of Meadville; and Mark Harned (Kim) of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Jason Harned, Haley Jackson (Tim), Corey Harned, Tyler Smock, Anthony and Michael Bocchine, Salina Smith and Kashina Davis; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. Frederick Bailey (Anne-Louise) of Chittenango, NY; a sister-in-law, Louise Bailey of Meadville; a brother-in-law, Ted Loy (Donna) of Bloomington, IL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles Pardee; a brother, Gene Bailey; a sister, Elaine Loy; and a grandson, Joshua Harned.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.
The funeral service will be Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. at High Street Community Church, 9517 U.S. Hwy 322, Conneaut Lake with the Rev. John Sandau, Jr., Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
