Kenneth A. Prutzman, 78, of 17736 Matt Rd., Meadville, died Thursday, October 07, 2004 at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.
He was born in Duryea, PA July 29 1926, a son of the late Forrest and Mildred Scott Prutzman. He married Jean Paterson July 28, 1951.
He was a 1944 graduate of Duryea High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He worked as a Blacksmith for Conrail for 33 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Hamlin Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially being with his family.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 53 years, include 2 sons, Mark D. Prutzman of Meadville and Kevin F. Prutzman and his wife Terry of Saegertown; 2 sisters, Myrtle Prutzman of Duryea and Charlotte Compton of Honesdale; 4 grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda, Jessica, and Kyle Prutzman; and 1 nephew and 2 nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Margie Prutzman and a son, Kenny Prutzman.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Lea Guiney, Pastor of Hamlin Chapel United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
