Kenneth A. Smith

December 1, 1957 — October 30, 2012

Kenneth A. Smith, 54, of Cochranton died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville December 1, 1957 a son of Richard A. and Margaret J. (Peggy) Owen Smith.  He married Kay Sutton September 29, 1979 and she survives.

He was a 1975 graduate of Randolph East Mead High School.  He was a tool & die maker working at Joy Manufacturing, Pennsylvania Tool and Gages and most recently at PTR Tool & Plastics.

He enjoyed coaching and playing hockey, coaching soccer and chaperoning the Cochranton Marching Band.  He was a member of the Cochranton Jaycees.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Kay of 33 years, include: two sons, Joshua A. Smith and his wife Theresa of New Glarus, WI and Adam J. Smith of Port Jefferson, Long Island; a daughter, Hannah N. Smith of Cochranton; four brothers, Richard O. Smith and his wife Barbara of Linesville, Gregory Smith and his wife Joy of Melbourne, FL, Thomas Smith and his wife Monica of Guys Mills and Keith E. Smith and his wife Gwen of Guys Mills and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Ferraro, Pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Youth Hockey Association, P.O. Box 201, Meadville, PA 16335 or the Cochranton Cardinal Music Boosters, 105 2nd Street, Cochranton, PA 16314.
