Kenneth G. Burns

Kenneth G. Burns, 90, formerly of Meadville, one month resident of the Crawford County Home, Saegertown, died Tuesday, September 6, 1988, following a four-year illness.

He was born in Woodcock Township April 3, 1898, a son of C. Eugene and Maria Bittles Burns.  He married Althea Emmel April 14, 1921.  She survives.

Mr. Burns was a self-employed cattle dealer and farmer.  A member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer since 1911, he was the oldest living member of the church.  He served as a supervisor of Woodcock Township for 25 years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Telliho of Meadville, Mrs. Wayne (Jesse) Stainbrook of Meadville, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Dillaman of Conneautville and Mrs. Edwin (Patricia) Orris of Waterford; two sons, K. Gerald Burns of Meadville and John A. Burns of Saegertown; several nieces and nephews; twenty-seven grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Gene) Perry; a sister, Mrs. DeWitt (Florence) Rust; a brother, E. Glenn Burns; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
