Kenneth G. Halsaver, Jr., 74, of 16080 Mercer Rd., Townville, died tragically at his home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
He was born May 29, 1941 in Meadville, a son of Kenneth G. and Katherine Proper Halsaver, Sr.
Ken was a 1959 graduate of Meadville High School, attended Edinboro University, received law enforcement training for the sheriff’s department, and training in tool and die making.
Ken was employed by The Meadville Club as Secretary/Treasurer and had also worked at the Precision and Manufacturing Institute in Meadville, Kerr Technology Center in Titusville as director, and was a skilled toolmaker and instructor for many years. He owned Frank’s Radiator Shop in Titusville for several years and had worked for the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff in Townville and also with the Crawford County Scuba Team.
Ken enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and camping in his RV. He participated in competitive shooting and fishing tournaments and enjoyed drag racing cars and motorcycles. He was a master mechanic, avid reader, and committed Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Ken was a funny, kind, and intelligent man who will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Survivors include his loving companion, Tina DeBaise and her daughter Leslie Stabile and her husband Kyle; a daughter, Kimberly Halsaver of Raleigh, NC; three sons, Kenneth G. Halsaver, III and his girlfriend Kara Jones of Meadville, Matt Halsaver and his wife Jolene of Townville; and Dustin Halsaver; two grandchildren, Chase and Paige Halsaver of Townville; his father, Kenneth G. Halsaver, Sr. of California; and two brothers, Robert Halsaver and his wife Eileen of Pittsburgh and Richard Halsaver and his wife Donna of Washington State.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Halsaver Patton and his stepfather, Norman Patton.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A private family graveside service and interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
