Kenneth O. Bogardus, 83, of Cooperstown, died Saturday, April 29, 1995, at home.
He was born in Black Ash, Randolph Township, a son of the late Leslie and Jessie Bowes Bogardus. He married Ruth Raup, December 25, 1938. She survives.
He was a 1934 graduate of Allegheny College, and had taught school in Guys Mills, Corry and New Kensington. He retired in 1975 from Alcoa Research Laboratories in New Kensington after 30 years.
He attended Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. He was a former Kiwanis Club member in Corry and New Kensington, a member of the American Society of Metallurgical Engineers, and was an avid gardener and nature lover.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Judith) Wagner of Philadelphia, Mrs. Gerald (Joy) Fisher of West Bloomfield, MI and Mrs. Stephen (Carol Jane) McRae of Durham, NH; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Aaron and two brothers, Floyd and Keith Bogardus.
Services were held at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
