Kenneth W. King, 91, of Conneaut Lake died Thursday, May 28, 2015 surrounded by his family at the Marquette Hospice House.

He was born May 6, 1924 in Grove City a son of Albert W. and Mabel Orr King.  He married Martha J. McCarl February 1, 1947 and she preceded him in death December 8, 2004.

He was a 1943 graduate of Grove City High School.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy.  He then served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1955 – 1958.  He was a union carpenter and then worked for the former Hunter Heiges Architectural Firm as a building inspector from 1969 – 1983.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #408 and the New Castle Consistory and past member of the Oakland Beach Golf Club.  He enjoyed golfing and in his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing and bowling.

Survivors, include a daughter, Cathy L. Adsit and her husband Charlton of Greenville; a son, Kim C. King and his wife Darla of Meadville; three grandsons, Garrit Adsit, Christopher Adsit and his wife Jennifer and Joel King; six great grandchildren, Krysta, Cassie, Roland, Weston, Calia and Caleb Adsit; three nieces and many relatives from his wife’s side of the family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Leavitt and Betty Bush and a half brother, William Cox.

Calling hour will be Saturday, June 13th from 1-2 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Philip Torre, officiating and military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.

Interment will be in Adsit Cemetery.
