Kenneth W. Smith

Kenneth W. Smith, 72, of 20731 Ryan Rd., Meadville, died Monday, April 8, 2002 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born, October 1, 1929 in Dunmore, WV a son of Auburn C. and Stella Woods Smith.

He retired in 1993 from Multi Tool, Inc. as a purchasing agent after 18 years of service.  He also had worked as a real estate agent, plumber and carpenter.

He was a veteran of the Korean War with the US Army.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Gun Owners Assoc., the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Assoc., National Rifle Assoc., Crawford County Historical Society, Cambridge Springs American Legion Post #381, Huidekoper VFW Post #2006, Masonic Lodge #234, Meadville Eagles Aerie #429; life member of the West Mead #2 Vol. Fire Dept. and the Meadville Elks Lodge #219.  He was a former member of the Italian Civic Club, the Meadville Sportsmen’s Club and a former Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop #233.

Survivors, include his mother, Stella Smith, with whom he shared his home; a sister, Elaine Smith of Erie and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, aunts and uncles.

A private service will be held for the family at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
