Mrs. Kikue Morisuye, 86, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since April 1981, and formerly of Sharon for 56 years, died Monday, March 31, 1986, at Wesbury following a one-year illness.
She was born in Yokohama, Japan, February 2, 1900, a daughter of Ginnosuke and Kogiku Shimizu Hasegawa. She married Masanobu Morisuye June 17, 1925. He died June 8, 1981.
Mrs. Morisuye immigrated in to US in 1916 and became a naturalized citizen in 1953. During the 1930s, she was a Sharon tennis champion in singles and in doubles with her husband. She also was a volunteer with the Girl Scout program in Sharon and was a member of Sharon First United Methodist Church and its women's organization.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jean Conklin of New Haven, CT and Mrs. Eleanor Wilhelmi of Zornheim, West Germany; two sisters, Tamaki Nao of Los Angeles and Sister Emmanuelle of Akita City, Japan and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Japanese Cemetery of Colma, CA.
