Kirk Edward Smith, 67, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center following an unexpected illness.

He was born September 13, 1955 in Meadville, a son of Paul Harvey and Dorothy Dittrich Smith.

Kirk was a graduate of Meadville High School.  He worked as a machine operator at various machine shops.  Kirk was a member of The Epiphany of The Lord Parish.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a daughter Alicia Gates (Drew) of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren, Makenzie and Jaxson; a sister, Lynn Smith of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mark C. and Michael P. Smith.

Calling hours will be Thursday, August 24th from 3-5 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas officiating.

Memorials may be made to a law enforcement organization of the donor’s choice.
