Kolene L. Mason

Kolene L. Mason, 79, of Conneautville died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born September 21, 1941 in Rochester, PA a daughter of Robert E. and Selma Mengel Gordon.  She married Charles W. Mason, Jr. in 1994 and he survives.

She was a graduate of Freedom High School and worked as a licensed beautician, for Right Way Transportation and Trucking, as a waitress at Denny’s Restaurant and as a waitress and bartender at Country Corner Inn in Conneautville.

Kolene enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing or on a motorcycle.  She also enjoyed ceramics.  She would mix the materials, shape in the forms, fire in the oven and decorate.  She would have the greatest joy from then giving them to those that enjoyed them.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Charles of 16 years, include: four children, Shannon Foster of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Ashurst (Kelly) of Virginia Beach, VA, Ronald Ashurst (Alene) of Rochester, PA and Korry Ashurst of Meadville; two step children, Steven Mason (Faye) of Bridgewater, PA and Charlie Mason of Beaver, PA; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Druzisky of Freedom, PA and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Gordon.

Calling hours will be Thursday, October 8th from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.  The memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m.
