Lane Austin Barber

Lane Austin Barber, 20 of Stoneboro, passed away on May 26, 2023. Lane was born in Greenville on September 26, 2002 to Wesley Wayne Barber and Melissa Diane Thompson. He was a 2021 graduate of Lakeview High School where he loved playing football and baseball. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and recently worked for GEO Solutions.

Lane loved playing sports in high school and was a standout athlete. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and spending time outdoors. He always loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and games. Most of all he adored his family and friends. Lane was a believer and would attend Bethel Life Church in Greenville. Lane will be remembered for his big heart and how he loved to laugh and make others laugh.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Wesley Barber (Ellen Pardee) of Stoneboro and Melissa Thompson (Rick Mathieson) of Grove City, sisters: Paedyn (Ryli) Crouser of Hadley and Savannah Wyant of Butler, maternal grandmother: Diane Thompson Smith of Marienville, paternal grandmother: Mary Barber of Sandy Lake, Aunts & Uncles: Dori, Rocky (Faith), Clint (Sharan), and Kitten, numerous cousins including his dear cousin: Christian Barber.

Lane was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa: Frank Thomson, Jr., paternal grandpa: Rockne Barber, Sr., aunt: Josie Barber, and maternal great-grandpa: Samuel Boyd Clark.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Wednesday, May 31. A Christian Service will take place on Thursday, June 1, at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Janet Pratt, officiating.

Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made in Lane’s name to Rose And Black Funeral Home, PO Box 245, Stoneboro PA 16153, to help defray funeral expenses.
