Larry A. Graham

Larry A. Graham Ed.D, 60, of 61 Second St. Geneseo, NY 14454, died Monday Aug. 12, 2002, in Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY.

He was born in Meadville June 16, 1942, a son of Russell L. and Grace A. Aitken Graham.

He was a 1960 graduate of Meadville High School, obtained his B.S. degree from Moorhead Univ., Moorhead, MN, his Master’s Degree from State Univ. of New York, Brockport, and his Doctorate from Indiana Univ. Bloomington, IN.

He had been a health teacher at Albion Central School, Albion, NY, and then the principal of Pavilion Central School, Pavilion, NY, for 20 years, retiring in 1966.  He had coached football at the Albion school, and coached golf at the Pavilion school.

He was an avid golfer prior to teaching duplicate bridge.  A life master of bridge, he started the Genesee County Bridge Club.  He was a member and teacher of the American Contract Bridge League.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Albion, and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity of Moorhead.

Survivors include his wife Diane Shafer Graham, 4 daughters, Rebecca Graham and her husband Leif Simons of Boston, MA, Sara Graham-Senden, and her husband Jchris of Buffalo, NY, Janet and Jessica Graham both of Portland, OR, and 1 son, Pvt. Larry Graham, II of Geneseo, 1 brother, Thomas H. Graham and his wife Jennifer of Minneapolis, MN, 1 step-daughter, Shona Strachan of Los

Angeles, CA, 1 grandson, Emmerson Graham-Senden of Buffalo, and 1 nephew.

Calling hours will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. Geneseo, NY, with a remembrance service following at 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at 2:30 p.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main St. Meadville, PA, with the Rev. James D. Hammerlee, retired United Methodist Clergyman, officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Union Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Larry A. Graham Memorial Fund, 61 Second St. Geneseo, NY 14454.
