Larry E. Brumbaugh, 72, of N. Watson Run Road, Conneaut Lake, died at home surrounded by his family Sunday, May 16, 2010 following a four month battle with glioblastoma.
He was born in Meadville, March 31, 1938 a son of Austin and Julia Grams Brumbaugh. He married Diane Marhoefer in Meadville October 5, 1957 and she survives.
He retired from Meadville Forging as press room supervisor after 45 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #234 and Scottish Rite Consistory Valley of Erie. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard in the late 1950's-early 1960's and he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed and spent time woodworking and wine making.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Diane of 52 years, include: a daughter, Joyce Brumbaugh and her companion Dan Adair of Conneaut Lake; three sons, Ronald Brumbaugh and his wife Karen of Venango, Kris Brumbaugh and his fiancée Melissa Pukjlo of Akron and Kirk Brumbaugh and his wife Sheri of Meadville; six grandchildren, Kelly Moyer, Dana Moyer, Nicholas Brumbaugh, Lawrence Brumbaugh, Trinity Brumbaugh and Austin Brumbaugh; two sisters, Phyllis Peters of Meadville and Sally Bosco of Meadville; a brother, Norman Brumbaugh and his wife Margaret of Linesville; two sisters-in-law, Winnie Brumbaugh of Saegertown and Sandy Nicolls of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Merle (Sam) Brumbaugh, a sister, Marlene Dillaman and two brothers-in-law, Andy Bosco and Bill Peters.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Bargar, Pastor of Jamestown United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family is also planning a memorial wake at a later date.
