Larry G. Quigley

October 25, 1942 — February 11, 2020

Larry G. Quigley, 77, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at his residence following an extended battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born October 25, 1942 in Meadville, a son of Burdette and Bernice Shellenberger Quigley.  He married Delores (Dee) Wallace May 25, 1968.

Larry was a 1960 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He was a member of Pipefitters Union Local 449, Pittsburgh for almost 50 years.  He previously worked for Thermo King in Minneapolis, Chicago, Akron, and Wexford as well as for PPG.

A member of Stone United Methodist Church, Larry was also a member of Masonic Lodge 234, New Castle Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, Crawford County Shrine Club where he was a former member of the motor patrol, Ocala, FL Shrine Club, VFW Post 2006, Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111, Venango Valley Golf Club, 50-year member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219, and a former member of the Meadville Country Club.

Larry enjoyed golfing where he achieved four holes in one, hunting, traveling, wintering in Florida, and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Dee, include his twin brother, Gary Quigley of Painesville, OH; his mother-in-law, Jean Wallace of Meadville; three nephews, Gary (Marva) and Colin (Cheriese) Quigley, all of Painesville, OH and Jamison (Erin) Quigley of Mentor, OH; two nieces, Darla (Scott) Hill and Brandy (Charles) Pitts, all of Painesville, OH; great-nieces; great-nephews; and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Copeland and his father-in-law, James Wallace.

Calling hours will be Thursday, February 13th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
