Larry M. Baseflug

Larry M. Baseflug, 84 of Jackson Center, passed away on June 28, 2023 at St. Paul's Homes in Greenville. Larry was born in Richardton, ND, on December 31, 1938 to the late Matthew and Leota (Flowers) Baseflug. He was a 1956 graduate of Model High School in Dickinson, ND, and then attended Dickinson State University and Penn State University where he earned his Associates Degree in Metallurgy. He worked at National Castings in Sharon, and then for Channellock, Inc. in Meadville retiring in 2000. Larry proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force.

Larry enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening, growing flowers, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with his late wife Nancy and often reminisced about their trips after retirement. Larry was an avid Lakeview Sailors fan, always traveling to watch his grandchildren in their sporting events. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

On October 20, 1972 he married his wife, Nancy A. (Vredenburg) Baseflug, she preceded him in death on April 11, 2021.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Mathew (Teresa) Baseflug of North Dakota; Tina (Ovidio) Marquez; and Bryan Baseflug of Texas; Lynn (Shane) Reynolds of Sandy Lake; Laurie (Randy) Hardesty of Jackson Center; Linda "Tink" (Tom) Park of Stoneboro; Michael (Bobbi) Davis of Greenville; grandchildren Joscelyn (Cody) Ebbert; Logan (Fiancé Haley Kyko) Snyder; Morgan Snyder; Brentton Reynolds; and Ashlee Reynolds, Daphne(Eric) Senn, Shane (Ashley) Baseflug, Jessica(Kendall) Booke, Wyatt Baseflug, great-grandsons Crew Ebbert, Baird Senn, Kasen Baseflug, Kameron Booke, Mason Baseflug, great granddaughters Eastynn and Breckynn Baseflug, Emily Booke and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Larry is survived by siblings Timothy (Diane) Baseflug of Texas, and Jane (Connie) Baseflug of California.

In addition to his wife and parents, Larry was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Sherry Lynn Ann Baseflug, and grandson: Michael Ryan Hardesty, and two sisters, Pat Steffen and Colleen Baseflug.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael R. Hardesty memorial fund c/o Mercer County State Bank, P.O. Box 38 Sandy Lake, PA 16145-0038.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will take place from 1 pm - 4 pm on Sunday, July 2. A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 3 at 11 am.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery where Military Honors will be rendered by the VETS Honor Guard.
