Larry Vincent Beige, 57, of Saegertown, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in Volusia County, Florida from injuries sustained in a private plane crash. He was born in Meadville April 1, 1943 a son of Vincent C. and Margaret Stadler Beige. He married Linda L. Rathbun October 3, 1964, and she survives.
He was a member of the 1961 Class of Cochranton High School and completed the apprentice Tool & Die program at Talon. He was employed at one time at Talon, Leech Tool and Die Co., Sipco and Kuhn Tool. He formed his own company, Micro Tool and Manufacturing, Inc. in 1969 and operated it unitl he retired in 1997. He maintained a secondary residence in the Spruce Creek Fly-In community of Daytona, FL, where he was affiliated with the Spruce Creek Bi-Plane "Gaggle-Group". He was a licensed single and multi-engine pilot, a licensed stunt pilot, and was also Instrument rated. He recently completed building his own plane, a Lancair.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had traveled extensively enjoying these hobbies. He was a member of Black Ash Sportsman Club, Meadville Elk's Lodge 219, National Tooling and Machining Assoc. and the Manufacturer's Assoc. of NW/PA.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years; his mother, Margaret Hank of Meadville; two daughters, Barbara Beers (James) of Meadville and Rebecca Naples (Sam) of Cabot, one brother, James E. Beige (Andrea) of Saegertown; two sisters, Peggy Spaulding (James) of Guys Mills and Bonnie Keisel (Philip) of Rock Hill, SC; two half sisters, Carolyn Nichols (Bruce) of Meadville and Alyce Hrehocik (Eric) of Woodstock, GA; four grandchildren, Ryan Naples, Zachrey Naples, Lindsay Beers and Gregory Beers; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services were held at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.
Interment of cremated remains was in Greendale Cemetery.
