Laura F. Boyd, 80, of 14648 W. Fremont St. Townville, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday April 12, 2007, at home.
She was born in Meadville, October 14, 1926, a daughter of Theodore and Florence Ditch Richardson. She married John L. “Jack” Boyd on October 23, 1946, and he survives.
Laura was a homemaker and had worked at Dunn’s Market in Cochranton at one time. She had been an active member of the Townville First Baptist Church, the church choir, Sunday School Teacher, and Deaconess. She had been a member of the Townville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, had helped with Old Home Days for many years, was an inspector of Elections for the Borough of Townville, and was well known for her butterscotch pies.
Survivors in addition to her husband of 60 years, include three daughters, Helen Singleton and her husband Glen of Hannaville, Diane Hanna and her husband Donald of Townville, and Leslie Battin and her husband Kirk of Centerville; a son, Roger A. Boyd and his wife Blair Ellen of Troy Center; eleven grandchildren, Alyssa, Angela, Tammy, Lee, Candy, Dustin, Kylie, Natalie, Ryan, Michelle and Trevor; five great grandchildren, a half-sister, Alyce Colligan of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, L. Bud Richardson of Cambridge Springs and Fred T. Richardson of Bellingham, WA, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Fultz.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home,
Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Townville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Moses, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
