Laura I. VanMarter, 90, of Meadville, died at Springs Manor, Cambridge Springs, Thursday, August 29, 1990, after a period of failing health.
She was born at Blooming Valley April 14, 1900, a daughter of Lewis S. and Orpha Walton Brown. She married Dazelle D. VanMarter February 25, 1919. He died December 19, 1983.
She was a housewife, a member of First Church of God, Cambridge Springs. She also was a member of Vernon Grange and the Northwest Council of Republican Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie V. Norton of Saegertown; two sisters, Hilda Cotton of Titusville and Helen Brown of Guys Mills; one brother, Edward Brown of Cambridge Springs; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Winifred Rice; a son, Robert VanMarter; a sister, Luella Humes and a granddaughter, Carolyn Mae Rice.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
