Laura L. Britton

Mrs. Laura L. Britton, 71, of Meadville, died suddenly Wednesday, March 5, 1969, at City Hospital where she was taken by Meadville Ambulance Service.

She was born March 4, 1898, in East Fairfield Township, a daughter of Guy and Abbie Byham Murdoch.  She was married July 18, 1920, to Frank C. Britton who died February 16, 1960.  She and her husband spent most of thier lives in the Conneaut Lake area.

Mrs. Britton was employed for the past two years as receptionist at South Hall at Allegheny College.  She previously was employed at the concession stand at the Academy Theater for three years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Frances) Steele of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Ardath Hardy of Meadville; three granddaughters, Mrs. Jack (Sandy) Wentworth, Linda and Carol Steele, all of Meadville; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
