Lauri A. Galentine

Lauri A. (McGill) Galentine, 66, of Stoneboro, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at UPMC Horizon Shenango in Farrell. Born on December 02, 1955 in Meadville, PA; a daughter of the late Charles McGill and Leah (Randolph) McGill. Mrs.Galentine was a graduate of McDowell High School in Erie, PA. After high school Mrs. Galentine worked as a news reporter for several different places and at the radio station for many years. Until her retirement in 2020, she worked for the Mercer County Courthouse in the election department. She also worked in housekeeping and the tax office during her time at the courthouse. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, writing poetry and short stories, and was an avid reader. In 2011, Lauri published a collection of her poetry, called Elusive, which is available on the Barnes & Noble website. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Galentine of Stoneboro, Daniel Galentine and wife Nikol of Pittsburgh, Jamie Galentine and girlfriend, Nicole Cushing, of Sandy Lake, and Jonathan Galentine of Stoneboro, ten grandchildren Kirstin Williams, Lorelei, Nathaniel, Sean, Max, Kelsey, Joshua, and Emma Galentine, Kaydan Cushing and Greyson Bills; three sisters, Robin Patrick, Bonnie McGill, and Chris McGill, several step-brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lauri was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Galentine whom she married on December 8, 1973 and who passed away on July 23, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2021 at 7 pm at the Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Stoneboro. A time of receiving will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, 2021 from 6 pm until the hour of services.
