Lavina E. Smith

Lavina E. Smith, 77, of Guys Mills, died Wednesday, January 10, 1990, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, following an illness of several months.

She was born at Sterling, CO, May 6, 1912, a daughter of John H. and Anna Marie Rogal Maier.  She married George W. (Ted) Smith November 28, 1930.  He preceded her in death February 24, 1978.

She was a housewife and a member of Lyona Bible Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Helen Marks of Meadville, Mrs. Eugene (Donna) Proper of Springboro and LuAnn Smith of Guys Mills; three sons, George R. Smith of Winfield, IL, Warren W. Smith of Guys Mills and Robert L. Smith of Winslow, AZ; two sisters, May Werner of Sterling, CO and Mollie Huff of Fanwood, NJ; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Amelia Zwetzig, Helen Maier and Lydia Dain; five brothers, infant John, John H., George, Harry and Jacob Maier and one grandson, Christopher Marks.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
